Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Come Up Short Against North Branch

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers lost to North Branch 11-7 on Tuesday.

North Branch got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after #11 scored after tagging up, and #14 grounded out, scoring two runs.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Wyatt Frey that drove in two.

North Branch tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by #99, a single by #7, and a double by #15.

#8 homered to center field, which helped North Branch tie the game at seven in the bottom of the fifth.

North Branch captured the lead, 11-7, in the bottom of the sixth when #11 doubled, scoring one run, #15 singled, scoring one run, and #23 homered to right field, scoring two runs.

Alando Mendoza led things off on the bump for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The righty gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking four. #1 stepped on the hill first for North Branch. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers amassed 10 hits in the game. Braylon Collins led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers with four hits in four at bats. Frey, Tanner Sine, Collins, and Braylon Davis each drove in one run for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Xander Marshall collected two hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers in four at bats.

North Branch accumulated 11 hits in the game. #15 drove the middle of the lineup, leading North Branch with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. #11, #7, and #15 each collected two hits for North Branch.
