Jax Johnston With 4 Hits As Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Beat Almont

Jax Johnston collected four hits in four at bats, as Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers defeated Almont 9-1 on Tuesday. Johnston tripled in the sixth inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers won thanks in part to five runs in the third inning. Alando Mendoza singled, scoring one run, Ethan Torrez singled, scoring two runs, and Shane Slanec tripled, scoring two runs.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Wyatt Frey hit a sacrifice fly, and Slanec stole home, each scoring one run.
Johnston earned the win for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking five. Jason Lane stepped on the bump first for Almont. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and seven runs (six earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Xander Marshall and Braylon Davis each appeared in relief for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers collected nine hits in the game. Torrez and Mendoza each drove in two runs for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Slanec collected two hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers in three at bats. Braylon Collins stole two bases.
