Rankin's Walk-off Gives Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Victory Over Yale Bulldogs Varsity

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Yale Bulldogs Varsity.  The game was tied at 24 with Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers batting in the bottom of the seventh when Elara Rankin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Riley Robertson collected five hits in seven at bats to help lead Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers to victory.  Robertson doubled in the third, hit a grand slam in the third, singled in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Yale Bulldogs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning.  Yale Bulldogs Varsity scored two runs when Madison Hiller doubled.

After Yale Bulldogs Varsity scored five runs in the top of the fifth, Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers answered with five of their own.  Yale Bulldogs Varsity scored when Reese Klei hit a solo homer, Hiller homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, and Abby Reed singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.  Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers then answered when Shaylee Kading singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Alyssa Barr induced Grace Stillson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Lovee Yearkey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Robertson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers scored 11 runs in the third inning.  Isabella Pesina, Brooklyn Schultz, Stillson, Yearkey, Robertson, and  Schultz each had RBIs in the big inning.

Robertson got the win for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Robertson lasted six and a third innings, allowing 17 hits and 19 runs while striking out five.  Ella McMillian threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Mackenzie Aguinaga took the loss for Yale Bulldogs Varsity. The pitcher surrendered 18 runs on 20 hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers socked one home run on the day. Robertson had a dinger in the third inning.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers tallied 30 hits in the game.  Robertson, Pesina, Rankin, Yearkey, Kading, Stillson, Schultz, Addison McMillian, and McMillian all managed multiple hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.  Pesina and Robertson each collected five hits to lead Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.

Yale Bulldogs Varsity had 20 hits in the game.  Hiller, Abby Thierry, Jillian Kamendat, Marissa Hoenicke, Aguinaga, Brooklyn Shutko, and Klei each managed multiple hits for Yale Bulldogs Varsity.  Hiller led Yale Bulldogs Varsity with four hits in five at bats.
