Almont Varsity Raiders Captures Lead Early to Defeat Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-0 loss to Almont Varsity Raiders on Wednesday.  Almont Varsity Raiders scored on a single by Grace Koenig, a triple by Devin Johnston, a groundout by Elly Schapman, and a wild pitch during G Carlson's at bat in the first inning.

The Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Almont Varsity Raiders, giving up 15 runs.

Almont Varsity Raiders got on the board in the first inning when Koenig singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers was a single by Addison McMillian in the second inning.

Myah McLean got the win for Almont Varsity Raiders. The righthander surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Ella McMillian was on the rubber for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. McMillian surrendered 11 runs on ten hits over three and two-thirds innings.  Brooklyn Schultz and Elara Rankin entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Lovee Yearkey, McMillian, and Riley Robertson each managed one hit to lead Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.

Almont Varsity Raiders tallied 15 hits on the day.  Koenig, Johnston, Schapman, and Brooklyn Bunch each racked up multiple hits for Almont Varsity Raiders.  Almont Varsity Raiders didn't commit a single error in the field. Schapman had  11 chances in the field, the most on the team.
