Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Stymied By Marine City Mariners

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers couldn't keep up with Marine City Mariners and fell 17-2 on Friday.

Marine City Mariners got on the board in the top of the first inning after Reese Atkinson homered to center field, and Megan Lehr singled to left field, each scoring two runs.

Marine City Mariners scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. A dropped third strike scored one run, Drew Michoff grounded out, scoring one run, Jacqueline Northrup tripled, scoring one run, Julia Letson singled, scoring one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.

Marine City Mariners scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Northrup singled, scoring one run, a steal of home scored two runs, and Allison Walker homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Nataleigh Everitt earned the win for Marine City Mariners. The starter gave up four hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Ella McMillan took the loss for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking one.

Anastasia Pesina led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers with one run batted in. McMillan, Samantha Tunich, Kaelyn Platko, and Leah Tiechow each collected one hit for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.

Marine City Mariners accumulated 10 hits in the game. Walker drove the middle of the lineup, leading Marine City Mariners with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Northrup and Lehr each collected two hits for Marine City Mariners. Northrup, Emma Terhune, and Lehr each stole multiple bases for Marine City Mariners. Marine City Mariners stole 10 bases in the game.
