Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Fall To Armada Varsity Tigers After Surrendering Big Fourth Inning

Armada Varsity Tigers scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers 10-0 on Tuesday.

A single by Helena Fettue put Armada Varsity Tigers on the board in the bottom of the first.

Armada Varsity Tigers added two runs in the second. Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers committed an error, making the score 3-0.

Armada Varsity Tigers scored seven runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Addy Vanhoeck singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, and Taylor Capozzo hit a grand slam to left field.

Capozzo earned the win for Armada Varsity Tigers. The righty gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Samantha Tunich went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers in hits.

Capozzo drove the middle of the lineup, leading Armada Varsity Tigers with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Fettue went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Armada Varsity Tigers in hits. Armada Varsity Tigers ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Armada Varsity Tigers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Grace Girvin made the most plays with nine.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers welcome New Lothrop on Saturday for their next game.
