Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Fall To North Branch Varsity Broncos After Surrendering Big Fourth Inning

North Branch Varsity Broncos defeated Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers 17-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to 10 runs in the fourth inning.

North Branch Varsity Broncos got on the board in the top of the second inning after Addison Franklin singled, scoring one run, Lexi Walker singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Addison Cobb grounded out, scoring one run.

North Branch Varsity Broncos added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Grace Devereaux walked, and Walker was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

North Branch Varsity Broncos scored 10 runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning. Cobb tripled, scoring one run, Samantha Osborne hit a solo home run to center field, an error scored two runs, Kaylee Pasternak singled, scoring one run, Cobb grounded out, scoring one run, Osborne singled, scoring one run, and Emily Brinker homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Tia Beaver earned the win for North Branch Varsity Broncos. The starter allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Ella McMillan took the loss for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking none.

Kaelyn Platko and Leah Tiechow each collected one hit for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.

North Branch Varsity Broncos amassed 12 hits in the game. Beaver, Osborne, and Brinker each collected two hits for North Branch Varsity Broncos. Brinker and Walker each drove in three runs for North Branch Varsity Broncos.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers will travel to Michigan Lutheran Seminary for their next game on Thursday.
