Ella McMillan Leads Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Past Peck Varsity Pirates

Ella McMillan struck out 16 batters as the starter led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers past Peck Varsity Pirates 6-2 on Monday. McMillan allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking none.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.
An error, and a ground out by Anastasia Pesina helped Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers extend their early lead in the third.
Peck Varsity Pirates scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to left field by Ryleigh Ureel following a 6-pitch at-bat.
Ureel took the loss for Peck Varsity Pirates. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, giving up six runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out nine and walking four.
Kaylee Schoen, Lovee Yearkey, and Leah Tiechow each collected one hit for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Schoen, Pesina, and Yearkey each drove in one run for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. McMillan, Rozlynn Cayce, and Tiechow each stole multiple bases for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers stole six bases in the game.
Ava Collins, Madisyn Taylor, and Ureel each collected one hit for Peck Varsity Pirates. Ureel went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Collins stole two bases.
