Powerful Pitching By Ella McMillan Not Enough As Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Lose To Yale Varsity Bulldogs

Ella McMillan struck out 10 batters, but Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers fell to Yale Varsity Bulldogs 4-1 on Thursday. McMillan surrendered five hits and four runs over seven innings while walking two.

Yale Varsity Bulldogs opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Yale Varsity Bulldogs first got on the board when Grace Sutherland (2028) singled, scoring one run.

Yale Varsity Bulldogs added one run in the second. Macie McCormick (2027) tripled down the left field line, making the score 3-0.

Mackenzie Aguinaga (2026) earned the win for Yale Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking three.

Kaelyn Platko led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers with one run batted in. Rozlynn Cayce led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers with two hits in three at bats.

McCormick (2027) set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Yale Varsity Bulldogs with two hits in four at bats.

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers will travel to Yale Varsity Bulldogs for their next game on Thursday.
