Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Stymied By Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies

Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers had trouble keeping up with Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies in a 16-5 loss on Monday.
Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies got on the board in the top of the first inning after Madison Raymo grounded out, and Elliana Cruciano tripled, each scoring one run.
Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies scored six runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Marisa Raymo drew a walk, scoring one run, Adeline Jones singled, scoring two runs, and Cruciano homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies scored five runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Raymo singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and Annalyse Ichenberg hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Cruciano earned the win for Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Rozlynn Cayce took the loss for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The starter went four innings, allowing 16 runs (12 earned) on 16 hits, striking out one and walking five.
Ella McMillan provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. McMillan and Lovee Yearkey each collected two hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers.
Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies accumulated 17 hits in the game. Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies's Natalie Miller, the number seven hitter, led Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies with three hits in four at bats. Cruciano and Raymo were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in four runs for Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies. Raymo, Ichenberg, and Shannon Fealko each collected multiple hits for Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies. Arianna Hagen led Port Huron Northern Varsity Huskies with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game.
