Anastasia Pesina Leads Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers Past Imlay City Varsity Spartans

Anastasia Pesina collected three hits in three at bats, as Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers defeated Imlay City Varsity Spartans 7-4 on Thursday. Pesina singled in the fifth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.
Imlay City Varsity Spartans opened the scoring in the first after Chloe Bruman scored after tagging up.
Lovee Yearkey singled to center field, which helped Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the second, Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers broke up the tie when Kaylee Schoen grounded out, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers added one run in the third. Valarie Bird hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 5-1.
Ella McMillan earned the win for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. The right-handed pitcher gave up 10 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Faith Schriber took the loss for Imlay City Varsity Spartans. The pitcher went two innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking two.
Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers collected 10 hits in the game. Pesina and Yearkey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers. Leah Tiechow collected two hits for Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers in three at bats. Croswell-Lexington Varsity Pioneers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Samantha Tunich had the most chances in the field with eight.
Imlay City Varsity Spartans collected 10 hits in the game. Bruman and Ava Nadrowski were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Imlay City Varsity Spartans. Brooke Walls went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Bruman and Walls each stole multiple bases for Imlay City Varsity Spartans.
